Pokémon Reveals Collaboration with Idol Lay Zhang

Pokémon and K-pop fans around the world were thrilled by the Twitter post made by The Pokémon Company on the 26th of July where a short video containing different Pokémon from the first generation alongside the Chinese artist Lay Zhang was first published.

The 19-second video does not show much outside of Lay Zhang in various activities such as playing the piano and cleaning his house accompanied by fan favourite Pokémon from the first game. What made the community happy was that the video was only a teaser for Pokémon Party, an upcoming music video that is set to be released on August 4th, 2023.

This isn’t the first time The Pokémon Company has partnered with a musician from the K-pop world. On July 4th, a collaboration with the K-Pop band ENHYPEN was announced through the release of a 20-second-long video teasing the later-released music video called One and Only. As of the writing of this article, the music video has reached the 4.9 million view mark on Youtube.
